A private house in Jaipur, where summer highs sit above 40°C and the

climate is hot and dry for most of the year. The plan is organised

around a shaded court, so the house cools itself before mechanical

systems are asked to. Openings are sized and screened by orientation —

generous to the north, filtered to the west — and the built mass is

used as thermal buffer rather than fought against. Materials are local

[stone / lime plaster / [ ]], chosen to age rather than be

maintained.
